Setting up no particular plans might be a good idea anyway: Budapest is charming at night and parties on the street are quite common. Three major locations are the key point of outdoor festivities each year - if you just happen to drop by, you can be sure something fun will be happening. On Vorosmarty Square, near the famous Vaci street and the neighbouring pedestrian area, winter parties take place from well ahead of Christmas time up until the first days of January - including, naturally, the New Year's party.
